Son Will Fill District 2 Leflore County Supervisor Seat

In a recent Leflore County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board approved the nomination of Reginald Moore, Robert Moore's son in a 3 to 1 vote.

The law allows the board to appoint someone to fill the unexpired term of District 2 Supervisor Robert Moore, whose seat would be up for election in November of 2019.

Reginald Moore works as a field representative in Congressman Bennie Thompson's Congressional Office, and will now also fill the seat of District 2 Supervisor.

President of the Board Anjuan Brown explains the decision.

"I know the decision was a fill good decision was to put Reggie on there. I also wanted to hear from the community because I know that's one thing Mr. Robert Moore would have wanted. The first thing he would've said is you need to hear from the community, and they spoke last night. Most of all of them who was interested in being reappointed they declined, and bagged out, and supported Reggie. I think it's a great thing and a unified situation."

The board says they will work with Reginald Moore to see who will swear him in as Supervisor.
