Three men, including a father and son, are in police custody after an armed robbery and fight between one suspect and an off-duty game warden.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Department was called about 8:15 Thursday morning about a robbery at the Dollar General store in Black Hawk. The suspect was seen exiting the store but fled....leading to a manhunt. 18-year-old Corleone Pate, Jr. of Lexington is charged with armed robbery and assault. 21-year-old Jonathan Alexander of Lexington is also charged with armed robbery.

Authorities say Alexander was spotted in what is believed to be the getaway vehicle. And Pate's father, Corleone Pate, Sr. is charged with accessory after the fact. At a checkpoint about two miles south of Blackhawk, officers met the elder Pate and learned that he was on his way to pick up his son.

About 30 minutes later, an off-duty game warden was feeding cattle when he came into contact with the younger Pate and a struggle began. A Mississippi Department of Transportation employee, passing by, got out to help the game warden. That MDOT employee was severely bitten by Pate according to investigators.
