School bus safety

A child is reportedly safe and in good spirits after being left alone on a school bus.

Greenville Public School Superintendent Debra Dace confirmed the incident in a statement released Friday. She said the district was conducting an internal investigation, and is working with staff, parents and administrators to ensure that proper steps are taken to make sure this doesn't happen again.

The Delta News received multiple complaints that a 5-year-old boy who attends Lucy Webb Elementary School was left on a bus Thursday morning. According to the complaints, the driver apparently didn't notice the child was still on the bus when the vehicle was parked at the transportation compound.
