Freeze to address church crowd

This weekend former Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze will make a stop in the Delta.

Freeze, who coached the Rebels for five seasons before resigning last summer, will be the guest speaker during Sunday's worship service at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenville.

Pastor Mark Kelly said the public is invited to hear Freeze’s message of forgiveness and redemption.

“He wants to share with the broken and with those that don't even know they are broken yet, that I got joy and happiness in my life,” Kelly said. “God has restored me. So, he wants to share that story and then, share a story of hope."

The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Freeze resigned in 2017 after the University of Mississippi learned of an alleged pattern of misconduct. The coach was accused of making at least one call to a female escort service using his school-issued phone.
