City Raise

Greenville employees will soon see an increase in pay.

The city council approved a five percent pay increase across the board for all employees.

Mayor Errick Simmons says the last time employees saw a pay raise was nearly a decade ago.

He says his department wants to compensate employees for the hard work they do for the city of Greenville.

"Today, our council heard their concern. We're very pleased that the council has taken that step to add a little more monies to have a little more disposable income in the checks of our city employees for what they do day in and day out," says Simmons.

Simmons says those increases will take effect October 1st.
