Players pray after GHS player is severely injured

A Greenville High School football player was severely injured on a helmet-to-helmet hit at Greenville High School's football game against Madison Central High School Friday night.

Medical personnel performed CPR on the player and was airlifted to Jackson. The game was cancelled. Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons says he will host a prayer meeting Saturday at the Greenville High School gym at 3 PM. The PTA and the booster club will also be in attendance. We'll have more information as this story develops.
