Officials now releasing the name of the pilot in Thursday's single engine plane crash. The Carroll County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of the crash in the Vaiden area on the 4th of July holiday.  Officials said Walter Mitchell took off from the Winona Airport in his four seater plane.  Authorities said, Mitchell was attempting to land on a private air strip when the crash happened.  The plane was occupied by two adults and two children at the time, Mitchell was flown from the scene with non-life threatening injuries.  The three passengers were transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.  The cause of the crash is being investigated.
