Ladarrius West,31, was taken into custody Tuesday by Greenwood Police officers charged with Felony False Pretense.
West is accused of taking over $8000 from seniors at Humphreys County High School in exchange for transportation to Florida for their senior trip.
However, West allegedly never showed up or returned the money.
The students were expecting to meet West in the Supervalu parking lot in Belzoni on the evening of April 25th. The seniors had plans to spend Spring Break on a cruise to the Bahamas.
West is now being held in Greenwood with other charges pending in Hinds and Grenada counties.
His bond was set at $10,000
Seniors at Humphreys County High School Seniors were preparing for their senior trip to the Bahamas last week, however the charter bus never made it to them.
Organizers paid Darrius West, Owner of Big Fella Party Bus Tours, to drive the 54 passengers to Miami, Florida so they could board their cruise ship. West was supposed to meet the group in Belzoni Thursday night, however he never showed.
The Delta News did speak to West on Friday and he stated he was going to refund the money. Organizers say they haven't received any payments.
Adults did file a complaint with a local sheriff's department hoping a solution will be found.
A Go Fund Me Account and a bank account has been set up in hopes the students can make other arrangements for a senior trip.
