The Coahoma County School Board ordered to pay former superintendent after an alleged wrongful termination.
What started as a five day suspension in January of last year turned into a termination the following March for Xandra Brooks-Keys.
In March of 2018, the Coahoma County Board of Trustees voted to terminate then-superintendent Keys.
According to published sources, Keys contract stated that she would not be removed from her position unless a finding of gross negligence, malfeasance in office, or commission of a crime," neither of which we're proven by the school board.
Because of the wrongful termination, on June 3rd, Coahoma County Chancery Court approved keys request for pay back with interest over the a ten month period, totaling $89,761.29.
The case is ongoing as keys fights to be reinstated as superintendent of the Coahoma County School District.
